MultiChoice CEO, John Ugbe, emerges BON Chairman

Chief Executive Officer, Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, has been elected the Chairman of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria.

He defeated Sir. Godfrey Ohuabunwa of Multimesh Limited by 63 to 35 votes in a keenly contested election at the Coronation Hall of the Kano State Government House, Kano.

The election was part of the 75th General Assembly and 20th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BON.

NMA, health workers differ as FG plans ban on unvaccinated workers

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha The Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19,  Boss Mustapha, has said Federal Government workers without proof of  COVID-19 vaccination or test results done within 72 hours will be denied access to their offices starting from December 1. Mustapha, who spoke at the committee briefing on Wednesday in Abuja, said the directive would be applicable in all locations in Nigeria and missions, adding that a circular would be issued to that effect. The Nigerian Medical Association and virologists, in separate interviews with The PUNCH supported government order. Police locked up Alake of Egbaland palace ground

Policemen believed to be from the Ogun State Police Command on Saturday, took over the Ake Palace Ground in Ake, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, the venue of a parallel State congress of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State. The Police who were seen at the venue of the parallel congress, believed to be  loyal to former Governor Ibikunle Amosun, locked up the gate to the Palace preventing party faithful from gaining access. Many people believed to have been mobilised for the parallel congress were seen loitering around the Palace, unable to enter the venue.
